This is no longer the future….
….it is now!
What am i talking about? Blogs, plus internet marketing and social media marketing.
It was not that long ago that we were all talking about the future of marketing would be social media networking, and with the speed of a broadband connection that future is here already.
Here at Enigin we soon realised the full power of the internet and have built much of our business on web based communications and support - but social media marketing had not really launched until after we started.
Some people had started using social media 18 months ago but it was still a rarity.
Blogs were well established by then, and are still probably the best of the “new” marketing tools.
A good blog, honest and personable, help put a face on a company, that is only known through its brochure or corporate website. Blogs carry thoughts and comments by individuals or departments. They broadcast news on a regular basis, often without the hyper-marketing messages of the main sites.
YouTube was getting powerful for viral marketing 18 months ago and is ever more so today, but just for marketing YouTube is strong as video is an important part of any companies image, and blog.
At least it is pleasing to be part of an organisation like Enigin that understands the importance of social media and blogs in 21st Century marketing and the importance of using it wisely to let people know about who we are.
Of course in that time Twitter has been to t he fore, though I am not a great lover of the medium I see the role it can play. Facebook has also come into to play on the marketing side
